Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z, is a US rapper and record producer who has finally launched an Instagram account.
On Tuesday, the 51-year-old millionaire businessman joined the Facebook-owned network and already has 1.4 million followers.
According to reports he his currently following only his wife, Beyoncé, who has 216 million followers on the network as he announces ‘The Harder They Fall,’ by his first and only post on the platform, a movie he co-produced.
The film, which will be shown on Netflix later today, follows an outlaw who discovers his nemesis is due to be released from prison and reassembles his gang to seek revenge.
On his Instagram story, the award-winning artist also revealed a premiere countdown clock for the film’s debut.
The cast includes Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, Regina King, Lakeith Stanfield, Delroy Lindo, and Deon Cole.
With numerous awards and recognition, Jay-Z has established himself as a prominent name in the global music landscape.
In 2019, he had become the first hip-hop artiste to attain billionaire status.
The rapper tied the knot with Beyoncé in 2008. The union has been blessed with three children — Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir.
Jay-Z had earlier said he and Beyoncé will not force their kids into show business.
