FirstBank partners with E1 Lagos GP to promote electric powerboat racing and enrich Lagos’s cultural scene in October 2025
In a bold initiative blending sport, innovation, and festive energy, FirstBank partners with E1 Lagos GP to champion Africa’s first all-electric powerboat racing championship, set to electrify Lagos from 3rd to 5th October 2025.

At the Stakeholder Immersion session in Lagos, Olayinka Ijabiyi, Acting Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at FirstBank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to national development through sports.
“Our involvement in the E1 Lagos GP is about driving legacy and enabling passions that unite Nigerians,” Ijabiyi said. “Through our First@Sports initiative, we consistently invest in platforms that elevate our people.”
FirstBank partners with E1 Lagos GP as part of its DecemberIssaVybe campaign, which celebrates the vibrancy of Nigerian culture during the festive season.
The bank, as presenting partner, aims to deliver a world-class experience that reflects the true essence of Lagos.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, lauded the initiative for showcasing the state’s culture and growing global influence.
Sporting teams owned by global stars like LeBron James, Tom Brady, Didier Drogba, and Rafael Nadal will compete in Lagos before the season concludes in Miami.
