Former Access Bank Communications Head, Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, laid to rest in Lagos

The late Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, former Head of Corporate Communication at Access Bank Holdings, was laid to rest on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at a family-reserved cemetery in Lagos Island. The emotional ceremony followed a service of songs held on Wednesday, January 17, at Harbour Point Event Center in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, a highly respected Corporate Media Manager and Journalist, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, after a brief illness at First Cardiology in Ikoyi, Lagos. Imoyo, who had previously served as a newspaper editor in Lagos, joined Access Bank in 2014 as a Corporate Communications Manager. Until his demise, he held the position of Head of Media Relations at Access Holdings.

The late Imoyo’s legacy in Corporate Communications was marked by excellence, and he was known for his philanthropy, humanity, openness, and kindness to colleagues both within and beyond the media circle. He also served as the Publicity Secretary of the Association of Corporate and Marketing Communications Professionals in Banks in Nigeria (ACAMB).

During the service of songs, colleagues and associates described Imoyo as one of the best media managers in the industry. His leadership style, characterized by transparency and commitment to excellence, earned him admiration from many within and outside the media circle. Imoyo was also remembered as a man of God and a gentleman.

In addition to his professional achievements, Abdul Kolawole Imoyo was a beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle. The ceremony, attended by family, friends, and colleagues, reflected on Imoyo’s dedication to excellence in his professional career and his positive impact on those around him.

Family, friends, and colleagues expressed their grief and offered prayers for the repose of Imoyo’s soul, acknowledging the unexpected loss of a man who was supposed to enjoy the dividends of his years of sacrifice at the peak of his career.
