Actors Guild of Nigeria, (AGN) has confirmed the death of veteran actor, Sam Obiago. The organisation’s national secretary, Abubakar Yakubu, announced his death.
He claimed the actor died in the early hours of Thursday following a long fight with the medical ailment.
“He suffered a stroke a few months ago and was recovering, only for us to learn that he died at around 2 a.m. today.
We paid a visit to the family in Asaba.”
“The chairman of AGN there is still talking with them,” he explained.
Obiago has starred in over hundreds of Nollywood movies such as ‘Gifted’, ‘Tears Of A King’, ‘Woman Of Fire’, ‘Ghana Island’, ‘Royal Turning Point’, ‘Royal Appointment’, ‘Bargain’, ‘Combined Forces’, ‘Altar Of Love’, and ‘Wishes’.
Others are ‘Throne Of Fire’, ‘Ancient Key’, ‘Wicked Tradition’, ‘Tortured Heart’, ‘Royal Wreck’, ‘The King’s Decision’, ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘The Orbit’, ‘Strength Of Womanhood’, ‘Battle Of Kings’ and Royal Headache.
Tributes have begun to pour in for the ace actor as news of his death continued to spread on social media platforms.
The Nigerian movie industry has since the start of 2021 lost a number of talented actors — including Rachel Oniga, Sadiq Daba, Baba Suwe, and Ernest Asuzu.
