Funke Akindele fuels fresh fallout with Toyin Abraham

Funke Akindele Toyin Abraham rift deepens after premiere snub and viral reaction, sparking strong fan responses online

Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele has reignited tension with fellow actress Toyin Abraham after appearing to endorse a viral reaction to their recent public fallout in Lagos.

The renewed clash followed a widely circulated incident at the movie premiere hosted by Iyabo Ojo on Sunday, where Funke Akindele reportedly ignored Toyin Abraham’s greeting, leaving onlookers stunned.

Eyewitness footage showed Funke Akindele seated alongside Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe when Toyin Abraham approached to greet them.

While others responded, Funke Akindele remained unresponsive, prompting immediate online reactions.

In a swift response, Toyin Abraham publicly declared she would no longer greet Funke Akindele, expressing strong frustration over the perceived snub.

Toyin Abraham also confirmed that she had unfollowed her colleague on social media.

The situation escalated when Funke Akindele appeared to subtly react by liking a blog post highlighting Toyin Abraham’s vow.

The action, though brief, triggered intense debate across social media platforms and further deepened the Funke Akindele Toyin Abraham rift.

Online reactions were sharply divided. Some users praised Funke Akindele’s stance as bold and unapologetic, while others criticised the public nature of the exchange.

Adding a human dimension to the unfolding drama, Toyin Abraham’s husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi, broke his silence by commending his wife for exercising restraint.

Kolawole Ajeyemi noted that Toyin Abraham had chosen silence despite her desire to respond more strongly.

The latest development has surprised many industry observers, especially given recent signs of reconciliation between the two actresses.

In late 2025, both women shared warm public moments at events, including a dedication ceremony hosted by Toke Makinwa, where Toyin Abraham was seen respectfully greeting Funke Akindele.

They were also spotted sharing light-hearted interactions at another film premiere, reinforcing the belief that their long-standing rivalry had eased.

For years, Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham have remained dominant figures in Nollywood, often viewed as industry rivals due to their consistent box-office success and strong fan bases.

Despite previous efforts at reconciliation, the current fallout suggests that tensions between the two screen stars may persist, keeping the Funke Akindele Toyin Abraham rift firmly in public focus.
