Funny Albert buys house for mother after viral fame, as Ghanaian skit star’s grass-to-grace story transforms his family’s living conditions

Ghanaian child content creator Albert Ofosu Nketia, popularly known online as Funny Albert, a skit and meme sensation widely recognised for his viral “laughing boy” video, has reportedly purchased a new home for his mother, Rosina Nketia, in Kumasi, Ghana, marking a remarkable turn in the family’s grass to grace journey.

The development follows the widespread online success of Funny Albert buys house for mother, a story that has drawn emotional reactions across social media, where the young internet personality rose to global fame after a clip of him crying and suddenly bursting into laughter went viral in 2023.

Rosina Nketia, the mother of the skit star, described the family’s difficult past, explaining that they once lived in poor housing conditions and struggled to afford basic needs, including rent and school fees for their children.

According to her, life before the viral moment was marked by hardship, with inconsistent access to education for the children and daily financial strain that left the family in a vulnerable position.

However, she noted that the unexpected rise of her son on the internet changed their circumstances dramatically, transforming what once seemed like a bleak future into a powerful success story.

The emotional turning point that brought Funny Albert into global spotlight reportedly occurred at home when a disagreement over food led to tears, which quickly turned into laughter after his grandmother attempted to cheer him up with a playful song.

The moment was captured on video by a family member and later spread rapidly across social platforms.

The clip, which features the young boy transitioning from crying to laughter, has since become a widely used meme across TikTok, WhatsApp, and X, often symbolising emotional shifts and humorous reactions in everyday situations.

Now aged around 10, Funny Albert continues to enjoy growing popularity online, with his image frequently used by content creators in Nigeria and beyond to enhance comedy skits and digital storytelling.

The latest development, in which he is said to have acquired a home for his mother, has been widely described as a powerful milestone in his family’s journey, reflecting how a single viral moment reshaped their lives.

Rosina expressed gratitude for the transformation, acknowledging the role of her son’s unexpected fame in lifting the family from financial struggle to stability.
