Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the Federal Government to investigate the recent violent protests in Kano State. Ganduje’s request follows claims by the Kano State government that the APC was responsible for the unrest.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje accused Governor Abba Yusuf of orchestrating the protests as part of a scheme to destabilize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. The APC chairman asserted that the Kano State government was behind the violence, aiming to discredit the current federal administration.
The statement denounced the alleged actions of Governor Yusuf, describing them as an attempt to incite chaos and undermine the peace and security of Kano State. It highlighted concerns over the potential impact of such unrest on the lives and properties of innocent citizens.
“It is alarming that a sitting governor would incite such chaos and violence within his state,” the statement read. “This reckless and irresponsible behavior is an attempt to destabilize Kano and tarnish the image of our President.”
Ganduje’s call for an investigation seeks to address the accusations that the APC was involved in funding the protests, which the statement argues is a diversion from the actual perpetrators.
The Federal Government has yet to respond to Ganduje’s request for an investigation into the alleged involvement of the Kano State government in the violent protests.
