Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, has organised a table tennis competition to mark his 70th birthday, promoting sports development and youth engagement.

The event, tagged OGD at 70 Table Tennis Tournament, will culminate in its final round on April 4, 2026, at Obalofin Hall, Conference Hotel, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, from 11am to 3pm.
The competition reflects the enduring maxim that a healthy body supports a sound mind, with the initiative designed to encourage budding talents and foster community participation through sports.
The final matches will feature a lively mix of categories. Youth players will compete against their peers, while para-athletes will face professional paralympians in a highly anticipated showdown.
Veterans will also take on Gbenga Daniel in a symbolic and engaging contest.
Organisers confirmed that participants will receive consolation prizes, followed by speeches and the presentation of awards to outstanding performers.
