Gbolahan Lawanson Acquittal Marks Major Vindication

Gbolahan Lawanson Acquittal: Lagos court clears him of all charges, praising his integrity and ending years of alleged persecution

Lagos, Nigeria – Gbolahan Lawanson Acquittal has brought a three-year legal ordeal to a dramatic close, as the prominent businessman and community leader was cleared of all charges by a Lagos court, which praised his integrity and service to society.

The 10-count charge, filed jointly by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ladi Lawanson, Saint Michael’s Catholic Church Oshogun Ketu, Glo Ltd, and Vixen Nig. Ltd, was dismissed for lack of credible evidence.

The presiding judge described the prosecution’s case as “malicious, manipulative, and unsupported by fact.”

The verdict marks a powerful vindication for Mr Lawanson, who has long maintained that the allegations were part of a calculated effort to tarnish his name and seize control of family assets left by his late father, Chief A.O.L. Lawanson, a respected Lagos industrialist.

Speaking after the judgment, Mr Lawanson said, “This was a conspiracy from the very beginning. I was targeted for refusing to stay silent about the misuse of our family’s inheritance. But the truth has prevailed, and justice has shamed falsehood.”

He alleged that his elder brother, former Lagos Commissioner for Transport Mr Ladi Lawanson, orchestrated the case with the aid of then Commissioner of Police, AIG Adeyinka Adeleke. According to him, “They weaponised the system to destroy my name and isolate me from the family legacy.”

The court’s ruling, observers say, not only exonerates Mr Lawanson but also highlights the growing concern over the misuse of law enforcement powers and corporate influence for personal vendettas.

Mr Lawanson, known for his community engagement and youth development initiatives, has received widespread public support following his acquittal.

Many described the judgment as a triumph of truth over manipulation and a reaffirmation of judicial integrity.

Expressing gratitude, he said, “I hold no bitterness in my heart. I am focused on healing, rebuilding trust, and serving humanity. Those who plotted evil must now face their conscience. The court has spoken, and justice has been done.”

The Gbolahan Lawanson Acquittal serves as a defining moment in a saga that combined family conflict, power, and the pursuit of truth.

For many Nigerians, it reinforces faith in the justice system’s ability to uphold fairness despite external pressure.
