In a bid to transform lives and empower the less privileged, the Gateway Front Foundation, GFF, an initiative of His Excellency, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has taken a remarkable step forward. Building on its two-decade legacy of empowerment programs, the foundation has recently launched an interest-free microcredit scheme benefiting over 400 petty traders in the Ogun East Senatorial District.

The significant disbursement event took place at the Asoludero Hall in Sagamu on Sunday, July 23, 2023, garnering praise from attendees, including chairman of the occasion, the Babalaje of Remo, Chief Joseph Ogunfowora who commended Senator Gbenga Daniel‘s dedication to improving the lives of his constituents, attributing his efforts to his godly and compassionate nature.

The microcredit beneficiaries were urged by Chief Ogunfowora to make prudent use of the loan and repay it within three months, stressing the importance of timely repayment. He highlighted the potential for larger loans and additional incentives for responsible borrowers.

Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, in his address, expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries, coordinators, market leaders, Baales, and guests present at the event. Reflecting on the history of the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), which was founded 23 years ago, the Senator highlighted the organization’s consistent commitment to assisting the people of Ogun State throughout the years, even before and after his tenure as governor.

He recounted his personal experience with a loan that helped him establish a successful business, underscoring the impact of timely repayments on accessing more substantial financial aid. Senator Daniel assured the crowd of his unwavering dedication to their well-being and shared his plans to present bills addressing local issues, including electricity restoration in Sagamu, in the Senate.

The Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization, has a rich history of supporting education, healthcare, vulnerable citizens, and economic empowerment. Its previous efforts include providing scholarships, medical interventions, wheelchairs, and economic support for traders, artisans, and market vendors.

Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, GFF extended a helping hand to the elderly and vulnerable, distributing palliative items and protective equipment.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests and dignitaries, including Chief Joseph Ogunfowora, Otunba Mrs. Ronke Oduneye, Chief Mrs. Joko Odebunmi, General Okunowo Olumuyiwa (rtd), Otunba Fatai Sowemimo, and Chief Mrs Josephine Makanjuola. The support and prayers for President Tinubu’s success in achieving the nation’s betterment were also invoked by Senator Daniel.

The interest-free microcredit scheme’s rollout marks another milestone in the Gateway Front Foundation’s (GFF) mission to uplift communities, demonstrating Senator Gbenga Daniel’s dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of the people he serves in the Ogun East Senatorial District.
