The Court of Appeal postponed making a decision on an appeal brought by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, who was upset that the governorship elections petition tribunal had declared his election invalid.
David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was proclaimed the winner of the March 18 governorship election by the tribunal on October 2 in a divided 2-1 ruling.
While running on the All Progressives Congress platform, Sule had won the poll (APC).
Parties presented their cases to a three-person panel chaired by Onyemenam Uchechukwu during the matter’s hearing in Abuja.
The panel then decided to withhold its decision and informed the parties of the date.
The PDP candidate filed a cross-appeal against the tribunal’s dissenting ruling, and the court similarly deferred ruling on the appeal.
