The Guardian Newspaper has recognised the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BOCA Energy Resources Limited, BOCA Integrated Services Ltd. and Seispace Geosciences Ltd., James Ukachukwu, among 66 inspiring Nigerian business leaders selected for a special showcase celebrating private-sector contributions to national development.
The recognition, communicated in an official letter dated October 14, 2026, forms part of the newspaper’s Nigeria @ 66: Celebrating Sixty-Six Most Inspiring and Award-Winning Business Leaders initiative.

The development was announced by Alfred Abiodun, Head of Media and Publicity for the BOCA Group.
According to the letter signed by Taiwo Ricketts, Head of Adverts and Special Projects at The Guardian, the initiative seeks to highlight Nigerian business leaders whose achievements and contributions deserve greater public recognition.
The newspaper explained that the showcase was designed to address the limited visibility of many accomplished Nigerian leaders, particularly among international audiences and younger generations.
It noted that the misconduct of a few individuals sometimes creates negative perceptions that overshadow the achievements of people demonstrating integrity, character and excellence in their respective fields.
The initiative is therefore intended to showcase positive examples of Nigerian enterprise and leadership while encouraging greater appreciation of the private sector’s role in national development.
Ukachukwu leads three business organisations: BOCA Energy Resources Limited, BOCA Integrated Services Ltd. and Seispace Geosciences Ltd.
His inclusion in the showcase brings attention to the BOCA Group’s activities across the energy industry and related technical services.
BOCA Energy Resources Limited describes itself as an indigenous Nigerian company providing engineering, procurement, construction and project management solutions across the oil, gas and energy sectors.
Its services include engineering and procurement, construction and fabrication, pipeline and flowline installation, specialised oilfield services, supply-chain solutions, as well as geotechnical and geophysical services.
The company also identifies technological innovation, safety, quality, integrity and sustainability as key elements of its business philosophy.
The recognition comes amid growing attention to the role of indigenous businesses in strengthening Nigeria’s industrial capacity and developing local expertise in the energy sector.
The Guardian recognition follows other professional and industry engagements involving Ukachukwu and the BOCA Group in 2026.
BOCA Energy Resources Limited was reported as a sponsor of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists’ 44th Annual International Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for November 8 to 12 at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos.
The conference is expected to focus on exploration, local capabilities and adaptive technology.
Earlier in the year, BOCA Energy and BOCA IT Systems Limited also received recognition during the 2026 Lagos State Council Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week, according to published media reports.
Separately, Ukachukwu was named Energy Man of the Year at the Momentous Magazine Personality Awards (MOPA) 2026, according to an October report by Standard Times NG.
These developments have contributed to the chairman’s visibility within business and energy-sector engagements.
Commenting on the development, Abiodun described the recognition as an important moment for the organisation and its leadership.
He said the acknowledgement by a national newspaper provided an opportunity to draw attention to the contributions of indigenous business leaders and companies operating across Nigeria.
Abiodun also highlighted the importance of sharing positive stories about Nigerian enterprise and professional achievement, particularly with younger generations.
The Group expressed appreciation to The Guardian for including Ukachukwu in the initiative, while acknowledging the contributions of its management, employees, technical professionals, partners, clients and other stakeholders.
It noted that progress in the energy sector depends on collective efforts, technical expertise, investment, operational discipline and effective partnerships.
As Nigeria marks 66 years of independence, the newspaper’s showcase provides a platform for highlighting individuals and organisations contributing to economic activity and private-sector development.
