Hilda Baci celebrates her 30th birthday with gratitude after setting a Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Jollof rice in Lagos
The celebrity chef, who has become a household name for her groundbreaking culinary feats, described turning 30 as stepping into “a brand-new book, not just another chapter.”

Sharing her reflections on Instagram, she wrote: “I carry every lesson, every tear, every win with me, but I walk forward lighter, stronger, and overflowing with gratitude to God.
The woman I’ve prayed to be is the woman I’m becoming.”
Her birthday follows a record-breaking achievement on 15 September 2025, when she prepared the largest serving of Nigerian-style Jollof rice.
The monumental dish weighed 8,000 kg (17,637 lbs) and was cooked in Lagos before thousands of cheering spectators. Guinness World Records has since confirmed the feat, cementing Baci’s legacy as a culinary trailblazer.
This adds to her earlier triumph in May 2023, when she cooked continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes, setting the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
That accomplishment earned her international acclaim and brought global attention to Nigerian cuisine.
