Addressing a stakeholders’ meeting on the creation of Ijebu State at Aafin Awujale, Ijebu-Ode, on Thursday, 19th December 2024, Oba Adetona expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Assembly for creating an enabling environment for the consideration of the state creation bill.

He acknowledged the historical unity between the Ijebu and Remo people while recognising the occasional political divisions.

However, he stressed the importance of maintaining a united front in this endeavour. Oba Adetona commended the National Assembly for passing the first and second readings of the Ijebu State creation bill, urging stakeholders to remain resolute in their efforts to realise this goal.

The Awujale expressed his appreciation to all those who have contributed to the cause, particularly Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former Governor of Ogun State, for his financial and intellectual contributions.
