The high-profile delegation from HASG included influential figures at the helm of various advertising associations, representing a diverse spectrum of the industry.

Among them were Steve Babaeko, President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN); Femi Adelusi, President of the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN); Sola Akinsiku, President of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN); and Tolulope Medebem, President of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN).

The chairman of the organising committee for the 2023 National Advertising Conference, Tunji Adeyinka, was also present.

The primary objective of the meeting was to engage in meaningful discussions on critical industry matters and to present key issues to the minister.

The heads of the Advertising Sectoral Groups seized the opportunity to articulate their collective commitment to supporting government efforts directed at fostering the growth and development of the advertising sector.

Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, leading the delegation, expressed the industry’s dedication to collaborating with the government to achieve common goals.

During the meeting, the industry leaders presented comprehensive proposals and insights on strategies that could enhance the advertising sector’s contributions to the nation’s economy. They also highlighted the potential for job creation, skills development, and increased revenue generation within the industry.

Alhaji Idris welcomed the delegation and applauded their commitment to collaborative efforts. He acknowledged the vital role of the advertising industry in national development and expressed optimism about the positive impact of such partnerships.

The collaborative spirit showcased during this meeting is seen as a promising step towards a thriving and mutually beneficial relationship between the government and the advertising industry.
