Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has said an active sex life contributes to a woman’s radiant appearance, as she reflected on relationships, single motherhood, grandmotherhood and her decision to become less confrontational in public.
The actress made the remarks during an appearance on The Morayo Show on Monday, where she spoke candidly about her personal life, family and evolving outlook.
Speaking on what she believes helps women maintain a youthful appearance and confidence, Ojo dismissed the notion that marital status determines happiness.
“We (single mothers) are happy. I think some married women are happy too. I don’t think it’s about being single or being married,” she said.
“I think it’s about the person that you’re with. Sex has a lot to do with a woman’s glow. I’m getting more than enough.”
Beyond her comments on relationships, Ojo described raising her children and watching them succeed as one of the most rewarding chapters of her life.
According to the actress, their achievements have given her a profound sense of fulfilment.
“It makes me feel good, happy, and fulfilled,” she said.
Ojo also revealed that becoming a grandmother has significantly changed her approach to public disagreements and controversies.
She explained that she now chooses her battles more carefully to protect her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, and her growing family from unnecessary attention and false allegations.
“I have piped down because of my grandson now. My daughter is married, so when I keep fighting, the opposite side is going to come up with different false allegations, and I don’t want her going through any stress. But if the need arises for me to speak up, then I will,” she said.
The actress disclosed that she travelled to Canada to perform the traditional omugwo, the customary postnatal care for new mothers, following the birth of her grandson.
Her latest comments come weeks after she explained why she ensured her former husband, Ademidun Ojo, played a prominent role during Priscilla’s wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux in 2025.
Ojo said she deliberately set aside personal differences with her ex-husband because she did not want their separation to negatively affect their daughter, insisting that issues between parents should not be transferred to their children.
Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux welcomed their first child, Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, in Canada in August 2025, months after announcing the pregnancy.
