JMG Limited has commissioned an advanced hybrid solar power system at its Victoria Island branch in Lagos, strengthening the company’s push for cleaner, more reliable and cost-effective energy solutions for businesses across Nigeria.

The newly installed system combines 66kWp of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity, 80kW of hybrid inverter capacity and 81.92kWh of lithium battery storage to create an integrated energy platform designed to improve power reliability while reducing dependence on diesel generators.

Engineered through detailed load analysis using Fluke Load Analyzer technology and photovoltaic simulation software, the system is projected to generate approximately 94.8MWh of clean electricity annually, meeting about 80 per cent of the branch’s energy requirements.

The installation is also expected to reduce diesel consumption by about 28,000 litres annually, generating estimated fuel savings of ₦50 million each year while preventing more than 37 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from being released into the atmosphere.

The JMG hybrid solar system uses advanced components, including LONGi solar modules, Deye hybrid inverters and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage, to provide intelligent energy management, seamless backup power and improved operational efficiency.

Speaking on the project, Hussein Abbas, JMG’s Head of Solar Division, said the company chose to implement the technology within its own operations to demonstrate its practical benefits.

“At JMG, we believe the best way to demonstrate confidence in our solutions is to deploy them within our own operations. The Victoria Island Branch now serves as a real-world example of how businesses can improve energy reliability, reduce operating costs and accelerate their sustainability goals through intelligent hybrid power systems,” Abbas said.

The Victoria Island facility will now serve as a demonstration centre where customers, consultants and project developers can experience JMG’s commercial hybrid solar solutions operating in a live business environment.

The move comes as Nigerian businesses increasingly seek alternatives to traditional power sources amid rising energy costs and the need for more dependable electricity supply.

Hybrid solar technology has gained attention as companies look to reduce operational expenses while meeting sustainability targets.

Through the project, JMG aims to showcase how renewable energy solutions can support business continuity, lower fuel expenses and strengthen energy resilience across commercial and industrial sectors.

JMG Solar, a division of JMG Limited, provides turnkey solar and hybrid energy solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional clients in Nigeria.
