Julius Rone, CEO of UTM Offshore, was honoured at the Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum 2024 for his impact on the energy sector

[dropcap]J[/dropcap]ulius Rone, Group Managing Director and CEO of UTM Offshore Limited (UTMOL), continues to solidify his reputation as a leading figure in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Often referred to as the “King of Gas”, Rone’s influence has grown significantly over the years, making him one of the most respected names in the sector.

His success is reflected in the numerous industry awards that adorn his office and home, highlighting his unwavering contributions to Nigeria’s energy landscape.

Last Thursday, Rone received another prestigious honour at the Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum held at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel. Now in its second edition, the event recognises trailblazers whose vision, dedication, and innovation are reshaping the industry.

The ceremony attracted top industry leaders, investors, and regulators, who gathered to celebrate those driving growth and transformation in the oil and gas sector.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Kelechi Ofebu, Executive Commissioner for Corporate Services at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), emphasised the critical role of the oil and gas industry in addressing economic challenges and fostering national development.

He highlighted the importance of recognising individuals whose efforts are shaping policies, improving infrastructure, and driving sustainable energy solutions.

Other distinguished awardees included Bamanga Jada Usman, CEO of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), and Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of NUPRC, among others.

The evening also marked the official launch of Energy Express Magazine, a new industry-focused publication designed to spotlight the achievements of regulators, industry players, and investors.

During the unveiling, Dr. Julius Rone expressed his excitement about the magazine’s potential to serve as a platform for celebrating excellence in the oil and gas sector.

Industry experts and stakeholders at the event also called for increased investment, policy reforms, and infrastructure development to ensure Nigeria remains competitive in the global energy market.

The Nigerian Oil and Gas Awards Night 2024 reinforced its status as a premier platform for recognition, collaboration, and industry advancement, setting the stage for a more innovative and sustainable future in Nigeria’s energy sector.
