Junior Pope’s death and Nigeria’s penchant for spiritism and hysteria over science

Still on Junior Pope’s sad and negligent death, I was happy with the initial news of his resuscitation to life but was still a bit sceptical because the photo I saw of him lying on the floor was that of a dead man.

It seemed very clear to me. Shows you just how fickle minded we can be, any hope is hope. Grabbing at straws just to keep that hope alive.

Fact is, I was disturbed all night as anyone with mundane knowledge of asphyxiation can tell you that death, after a few minutes of oxygen deprivation, is an irretrievable condition. You’d be wasting your time conducting CPR or installing a defibrillator, a health worker has informed me.

Was he really first taken to a shrine before a hospital without electricity? That’s another question that is highly disturbing.

I believe what the hysterical crowd imagined was the miracle of Lazarus, must have been the onset of rigor mortis.

In Nigeria, can you really recover someone on the verge of death, scientifically, with just a few minutes window left?

Na only God.

Fact is, most of us live in ignorance. Nigeria must introduce compulsory intensive and general swimming training right from primary school level. Kids should not just taught to swim but instructed on life-saving techniques, such as how to save another person in swift currents.

We waste all our time in churches being entertained by lunatics. Pure waste of time. Let me tell you this, if in Nigeria, nobody prays or goes for any religious service for a single year, the sky will not fall!

Rather, giant strides will be recorded in the country’s stride towards rapid human and material capital development!

Imagine how everyone ran to tell me that he “didn’t die again, but survived.”

I found it very strange. Either the entire story was concocted from the start or something was wrong in its presentation.

How many people thought this way before vuvuzelaing the “happy story “?”

It shows you where we stand as a group. I don’t smell salvation anytime soon.

Let’s speak hard facts now, if all those your early morning miracles are real, why Mr Ibu and Amaechi Muonagor
die, they had no one to put the phone in their ear?
