K1 De Ultimate flight incident sparks media buzz; management denies any misconduct, urges public to avoid sensationalism and await verified facts

K1 De Ultimate’s flight Incident has drawn public attention following reports alleging unruly behaviour by the legendary Fuji musician while attempting to board a ValueJet flight on August 5, 2025.

His media aide, Kunle Rasheed, has firmly denied the claims, describing them as exaggerated and misleading.

In a detailed statement, he clarified that the situation stemmed from a harmless bottle of drinking water given to K1 at the airport lounge.

Despite his polite attempts to clarify, the matter escalated unnecessarily.

“At no time did K1 breach aviation protocols or threaten passenger safety,” the statement read.

“Claims that he blocked or disrupted the aircraft are completely unfounded.”

Witnesses confirmed he remained calm under pressure, with some passengers even appealing for him to stay composed during the confusion.

Rasheed emphasized that officials from aviation bodies including FAAN and NCAA, along with the airline’s Chairman and Managing Director, later personally apologized to K1 and offered to fly him to Lagos via a private jet at no cost. The artiste, however, graciously declined the gesture.

The pilot involved in the event has since allegedly had her licence suspended.

In response to speculation, K1’s team hinted that any contradictory statements from her may be attempts at self-preservation.

“This is a matter of truth, not assumptions,” the statement concluded, urging the public and media to avoid sensational reporting.

“K1 remains a respected, law-abiding citizen who cooperates with all relevant authorities.”
