There is fire on the mountain as the alleged retired and controversial journalist, Dr Kemi Olunloyo, and a farmer, Akintobi Olanrewaju, popularly known as NaijaFarmer on X, have been at each other’s throats.

And expectedly, Nigerian social media users have jumped on the thread to drag like an I-better-pass-my-neighbour generator either of the two depending on their favs.

The problem started when Olunloyo, while making references to an e-book produced by Olanrewaju, claimed it is riddled with misinformation and warned Nigerians against purchasing it.

“Be very CAREFUL of @Nig_Farmer Olanrewaju Akintobi’s book of home remedies. He’s selling books with a lot of false and dangerous information. We Pharmacists studied Pharmacognosy, the study of drugs from their herbal roots. Lanre has not even factored in those of his readers using prescription drugs into his book. 300,000 Nigerians die yearly just from Drug-Drug, Drug-Herb and Drug-Food interactions. Don’t go kill yourself over home remedies. I will warn all my followers on every platform NOT TO BUY THE BOOK,” she wrote on her Twitter handle.

Her post garnered a lot of reactions and generated hot debates. Some supported her claims while others believed she was just yarning dust.

Responding to the direct attack on his business, NaijaFarmer believed that the controversial ex-journalist was being unreasonable in her takes.

“Kemi, you’re embarrassing yourself. Let me educate you a bit. I started the #NaijaFarmerTips since February 2020 and I have shared over 500 tips. No one has come here to report adverse reactions or complications.

“By the way, I have sold over 7000 e-copies. Everything I shared for free is what I compiled in the book and they are mostly what I have tested myself & also encourage people to use with care.

“Madam, use your sense – you’re becoming annoying… You’re a pharmacist, what’s your contribution to knowledge? You don’t have sense, Kemi 😎” he lashed out.
