Gunmen abduct contractor Lucky Ugbo in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State. Kidnappers demand N100m ransom as police intensify efforts to secure his release
A government contractor, Mr Lucky Ugbo, has been kidnapped in Delta State, with the abductors demanding a N100 million ransom for his release.

The incident occurred in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area, around 8.45 pm, over four days ago.
Ugbo was taken at gunpoint in front of his residence along Isah Road by heavily armed men disguised as security operatives.
Local sources said the kidnappers had laid an ambush in an uncompleted building close to Ugbo’s home. He was seized as he returned home and was about to be let in by his wife.
“The gunmen fired shots into the air to scare onlookers before taking Mr Ugbo into the darkness on foot,” a witness said. “We all thought they were security agents at first.”
According to reports, the abductors first contacted the victim’s wife on Sunday, demanding a ransom of N200 million. However, they reportedly called again on Monday morning, reducing the demand to N100 million.
When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the abduction.
“Yes, it’s confirmed. The police are intensifying efforts to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victim,” Edafe stated.

The incident has heightened fears in the region, which has witnessed a rise in kidnappings and criminal activity in recent months.
