LASTMA operatives responded swiftly, extricating the mother and her son from the wrecked vehicle.
Both victims sustained visible bruises and mild physiological trauma. Family members later transported them to a medical facility for further evaluation.
Security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Igando Division, assisted in crowd control and safeguarded the scene throughout the rescue.
LASTMA, in coordination with LASEMA officials, ensured the damaged vehicle was removed to prevent secondary accidents and alleviate traffic congestion along the busy corridor.
Olalekan Bakare-Oki, General Manager of LASTMA, expressed relief at the miraculous survival of the mother and child.
He urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and conduct routine mechanical checks, particularly on braking systems, stressing that excessive speed combined with vehicle defects can lead to severe accidents.
