The victim said the incident occurred in the early hours of May 25, 2026, shortly after he concluded business activities for the night and remained at his business premises.
According to his account, suspicion was first raised when he noticed one of the men behaving unusually around the area.
He said he initially believed the individual was acting alone but later realised that a second suspect was allegedly working in coordination with him.
The Lagos Cutlass Attack reportedly escalated when the two men allegedly confronted him with weapons, forcing him into a desperate struggle for survival.
The victim recounted that he fought to escape the assault and was fortunate to survive the encounter.
Despite the violent nature of the attack, he said none of his mobile phones or the proceeds from the night’s sales were taken.
The unusual circumstances surrounding the incident have left him questioning the motive behind the assault.
According to the victim, the attack did not appear to follow the pattern of a conventional robbery because his valuables remained untouched after the incident.
He has since reported the matter to the police and said investigations are ongoing.
The CCTV footage, which has circulated online, is being used as part of efforts to identify the individuals involved.
The victim appealed to members of the public to assist security agencies by providing any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects captured in the recording.
The incident has sparked concern among residents and business owners in the area, with many calling for increased security measures to curb violent attacks and criminal activities.
