The appeal was issued on Tuesday via the agency’s official social media accounts, confirming active efforts to reach the survivor amid widespread concern.
The survivor, identified as Mirabel (@mirab351 on TikTok), posted on Monday that the assault occurred on Sunday, February 15.
She described suffering from insomnia, drinking to sleep around 6 a.m., before hearing knocks at 9 a.m.
“I thought it was my neighbour… immediately I opened the door, I got pushed back, I hit my head on the fridge and passed out,” she said. Upon regaining consciousness, Mirabel reported a man over her, with a cloth stuffed in her mouth.
The assailant allegedly used a blade to inflict injuries.
Mirabel initially mistook her bleeding for menstruation but later received a threatening message from the suspect, identified as “Priston,” who confessed and described the attack in detail, issuing disturbing threats.
In her most recent video on Tuesday, a tearful Mirabel revealed attempting suicide by ingesting Sniper toxin, crediting a friend who rushed her to hospital for saving her life.
“I am too tired, I can’t respond to the message. I will respond when I get better, thank you,” she said.
The DSVA confirmed it is actively working to contact the survivor to offer immediate support, appropriate intervention, and ensure her safety.
The agency appealed to the public for credible information to help locate Mirabel safely through direct messages on its official social media channels.
The agency reaffirmed Lagos State Government’s commitment to protecting survivors, emphasising that sexual assault is a crime and that every survivor deserves care, protection, and justice. Reports are treated with utmost confidentiality and urgency.
