LAWMA intervention team continues robust waste clearance operations overnight across key Lagos locations, reinforcing commitment to a cleaner and healthier city environment
The LAWMA Intervention Team carried out sustained overnight waste evacuation and clearance operations across multiple strategic locations in Lagos on Thursday 25 June 2026, targeting busy commercial and residential areas to maintain environmental hygiene.
The operations covered sites including Wema Bank on Nnamdi Azikiwe Street, Inner Marina Car Park, Foursquare Church on Nnamdi Azikiwe, Idumota Walk, the area opposite Emab Plaza, Crystal Shopping Mall, Jakande Median, Ijesha Road median from Adeniyi to Karounwi Junction, Olowogbowo, Governor Road, Alayabiagba, Sura Bin and several other parts of the state.

These LAWMA waste clearance efforts form part of the authority’s ongoing dedication to creating a cleaner, healthier and more livable Lagos for residents and visitors alike.
The interventions come amid persistent challenges of waste management in Nigeria’s commercial capital, where rapid urban growth often strains infrastructure.
Residents have been encouraged to support these initiatives by disposing of waste responsibly through approved channels and avoiding indiscriminate dumping, which continues to undermine collective progress.
The sustained operations reflect LAWMA’s proactive approach to addressing sanitation needs in high-traffic zones, helping to reduce health risks associated with accumulated refuse in densely populated communities.
