Leeds United moved closer to Premier League survival after a commanding 3-1 victory over already-relegated Burnley at Elland Road on Friday.

Goals from Anton Stach, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin secured a decisive win for manager Daniel Farke, lifting Leeds to 14th place and nine points clear of the relegation zone with only a handful of fixtures remaining.
The result significantly strengthens Leeds survival hopes Burnley win momentum, capping a strong run that has seen the newly promoted side collect 10 points from their last four matches.
Farke described the victory as vital but urged caution, noting that mathematical safety had yet to be secured. He said the team would only fully celebrate once their top-flight status is confirmed.
Leeds made a fast start, with Stach opening the scoring inside eight minutes after a low strike beat goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
The home side maintained control before a rapid second-half burst effectively sealed the contest.
Okafor doubled the lead following a fluid attacking move, finishing after neat interplay involving Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jayden Bogle.
The Swiss forward has been in scintillating form, scoring six goals in his last seven league appearances.
Calvert-Lewin then added a third, converting from close range for his 13th goal of the season, underlining his importance in Leeds’ campaign.
Burnley, who had already confirmed relegation, managed a late consolation through Loum Tchaouna in what was interim manager Mike Jackson’s first game in charge.
The victory provides a powerful response from Leeds following their recent FA Cup semi-final disappointment against Chelsea, and reinforces their status as one of the few promoted teams to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

For Farke, who previously struggled to maintain top-flight status with Norwich City, the result marks a significant step towards silencing critics and securing a successful Premier League return.
