A TikToker, simply known as Angela, who was among the first bloggers to send out malicious narrative over the unfortunate incident that happened at the Celestial Church of Christ, Overcomers Parish, Ajah in Lagos, has recanted and begged for mercy.

Recall that the parish was razed to the ground by an irate mob after extensive looting of electronics, musical equipment, personal effects and also the cow tied down in the premises which was meant to be slaughtered for the Juvenile Harvest Celebration of the C.C.C. Overcomers Parish.

The crime was ignited by the false alarms and narratives raised by Angela and others which flooded the social media about the death of a labourer, simply known as Dogo, contracted to evacuate the soak-away pit in the church premises.

During the course of carrying out the task, he slipped and drowned. Reports also have it that the assistant shepherd of the parish who attempted to rescue the labourer also sustained severe injuries and lies critically ill at the hospital till this moment.

Without proper investigation, Angela jumped on her TikTok and excessively defamed the whole Celestial Church of Christ, while making libelous claims against the shepherd. This led to the near lynching of the shepherd, sacking of the church and razing it down completely.

“How can you claim that you’re church, church of Christ. Rubbish! Church of the devil! Anywhere you see Cele, don’t enter Cele Church. Church of the devil! Look at! Look at! They have the mind to kill! They use people for sacrifice. This is what they do! They use people for sacrifice. They kill people! Look at the entire place; they kill my friend. Somebody I know, they kill him and removed his manhood. They removed his eyes and his tongue. Wickedness! God will judge all of you!” she ranted.

However, in a follow up video, as the Nigeria Police Force intensify efforts to nab all involved in the arson and attempted murder of the shepherd, Angela recanted her earlier stance of claiming that Dogo’s body parts were mutilated and asked for the forgiveness of the church, the shepherd and all Nigerians.

“I send my sincere apology to the Celestial Church of Christ and all members of Cele worldwide,” she said in part.
