In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Joseph Aloba said his son was consistently maltreated while signed under Marlian Records.
He recounted visiting Naira Marley after Mohbad complained of ill-treatment, only to personally witness troubling incidents.
“There were about three other people present that day; two are still alive today. One of them even reported to me that Naira Marley was beating Mohbad. When we went to apologize, Naira wasn’t speaking respectfully.
People think I went there to collect money, but life is much more than food,” he said with deep pain.
Aloba also addressed issues surrounding Mohbad’s financial transactions. According to him, Naira Marley once complained that Mohbad was using an unfamiliar account to receive funds.
“I warned him that anything he wants to give me should come from his own account,” he added.
