NACC Cultural Achievement Award to Bolanle Austen-Peters recognition was presented during an International Roundtable on Policy and Governance Reforms in Nigeria’s Immigration and Border Management Sector, held on 23 April 2026 at the Legend Hotel Lagos Airport, Curio Collection by Hilton.

Bolanle Austen-Peters, founder of Terra Kulture and BAP Productions, was celebrated for her outstanding contribution to Nigeria’s creative industry and her role in promoting African storytelling on the global stage.

Dr Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, delivered the keynote address, reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing border security while improving operational efficiency.

She highlighted ongoing progress on the e-border security project, which has covered over 1,000 kilometres in its first phase, with a second phase already approved by the Federal Executive Council.

Representing the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Assistant Comptroller-General Mohammed Adamu announced key digital reforms, including a reduction in visa processing time from 72 hours to about 10 hours through advanced biometric and real-time monitoring systems.

The roundtable also examined global migration trends, referencing data from the International Organisation for Migration, with discussions focused on evolving migration routes and the need for safer and more regulated pathways.

In her remarks, Bolanle Austen-Peters expressed appreciation for the honour, linking cultural innovation to national development, economic growth, and soft power influence.
