After fumbling with the recitation of the National Anthem during a Conference for Senior Police Officers in Imo state, Nollywood actress and singer, Mercy Isoyip aka Descushiel, has taken to her Instagram account to apologize to Nigerians for her poor outing.

During the conference, which took on Monday, October 31, Descushiel, who wore a police uniform in a video that went viral missed some lines while reciting the national anthem leading to sharp criticisms from Nigerians particularly on social media.

Reacting to her abysmal performance during the event, Descushiel in a video she posted on her Instagram account on Tuesday, tendered an unreserved apology to the Nigeria Police and Nigerians describing her errors as in ‘excusable’.

She wrote: “I sincerely apologise for the error I made during the recital of the National Anthem, I know such errors are inexcusable.

“My good people of our country, please accept my apology, as well as my assurance that I will be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents from recurring.“God bless the Nigeria Police Force. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
