Senator Ned Nwoko has alleged that he was promised an automatic ticket before joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming the assurance was not honoured after he joined the ruling party.

The senator made the remark in a brief statement, insisting that he was given expectations of a guaranteed candidacy prior to his defection.
“I was promised automatic ticket before I joined APC but they betrayed me,” Nwoko said.
His allegation has drawn attention to internal party negotiations and the issue of political assurances within Nigeria’s major political parties.
Nwoko did not provide further details on who made the promise or the circumstances surrounding the agreement.
The APC has yet to issue an official response to the claim at the time of this report.
