Namaste Wahala, the much awaited Nollywood-Bollywood Romcom is set to stream globally on streaming service Netflix on Valentine’s day.

This is according to a press release by the producer of the Romcom, Hamisha Daryani Ahuja.

The movie, produced and directed by Ahuja in Lagos, Nigeria is a classic love story of a Nigerian woman, Didi played by Ini-Dima Okojie and her Indian love interest, Raj portrayed by Rulaan Mumtaz, who fell in love amid their cultural differences.

Through this romantic journey, the couple take their families on a memorable rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Namaste Wahala brings all glitter, fun, lushness, colors, textures and dramas that both the Nigerian and Indian cultures share, making the movie a Valentine’s day ‘must watch’.

Commenting on the movie, the producer, a third generation Indian living in Nigeria, Hamisha Daryani Ahuja deeply cherishes and respects both cultures.

“I am very excited about my movie Namaste Wahala going to the whole world through Netflix.

“The movie showcases the beauty of Nigeria and the wealth of talent in Nollywood. It was amazing to see how beautifully two cultures which I hold very close to my heart came together in this fusion movie. I can’t wait for all of you to watch it.”

News of the cross cultural romcom first made headlines in February 2020 with the official poster shared by Ahuja who doubles as producer and director.

The movie was officially set for an April 2020 theatrical release but was later postpone to October due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Namaste Wahala stars Nigeria’s own Richard Mofe Damijo, Joke Silva, Broda Shaggi, Anee Icha, K10, Ibrahim Suleiman, Imoh Eboh, Osas Ighodaro and Big Brother Naija season four star, Frodd.
