‎Chairman of the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture, Ambassador Idaere Gogo-Ogan, stated this today at a pre-summit media conference ahead of the Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit (NDEIS) holding from May 19 – 21, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
‎
‎He noted that the summit, themed “Driving Investment, Innovation, and Industrial Growth in the Niger Delta”, is another gathering to deliberate on investment mobilization, enterprise growth, industrial expansion, and regional coordination.
‎
‎According to him, the inaugural Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit and Exhibition 2026 will commence from the May 19 to 21of May, in Port Harcourt.

The Nigerian President, President Bola Tinubu, is slated to be the special guest of honour while the Prime Minister of Barbados, the Hon Mia Amor Mottley will be the keynote speaker.
‎
‎Gogo-Ogan asserted that the recent Niger Delta Business roundtable brought together policy leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, development institutions, and strategic stakeholders from across the nine Niger Delta states, pointing out that the message from the engagement was unmistakable that the region must transit from ambition to implementation.
‎
‎The chairman explained that the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce is working to catalyse up to five billion USD in a structured investment commitment in the next five years, maintaining that if pursued with discipline and speed that it would attract more than 500,000 direct and indirect jobs.
‎
‎On his part, the secretary of the Board and chairman of Local Organising Committee, Dr Solomon Edebiri, while describing the theme as apt, remarked that the summit is a strategic initiative designed to reposition the Niger Delta as a competitive hub for investment, enterprise development, and sustainable industrialisation.
‎
‎Dr. Edebiri opined that the region is widely known for its contribution to Nigeria’s economy through oil and gas, stressing that the legacy lies on a wealth of diverse and largely untapped opportunities which the summit seeks to highlight and unlock.
‎
‎He added that in preparation for the summit, the local organising committee has lined up activities to promote the event, which include a roadshow within the Niger Delta states, FCT and Lagos, alongside a follow up press conference.
