The ceremony, held at the Nigerian Army School of Signals Parade Ground, Apapa, featured a pulling-out parade, ceremonial march-past, and group photographs.

Lt. Col Musa Uahaya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 81 Division Nigerian Army, described the event as both dignified and vibrant.

Major General Kamal Ishola Yusuf (Rtd), Special Guest of Honour, praised the parade as one of the most memorable he had witnessed.

The event was attended by serving and retired senior officers of the Finance Corps, former Chiefs of Army Staff, Corps Commanders, Commandants of Defence and Nigerian Army Institutions, formation commanders, captains of industry, financial institution heads, as well as families, friends, and well-wishers of the retirees.

Speaking on behalf of the retired officers, Major General Yusuf highlighted that the Nigerian Army remains one of the few institutions that uphold the pulling-out tradition, emphasising that such customs shape the military’s discipline, ethos, and collective purpose. He said the valedictory parade reflects the Finance Corps’ continued commitment to preserving its heritage.

The retiring officers include Major Generals KI Yusuf, AA Fayemiwo, J Mohammed, RN Ochei, MO Ihanuwaze, M Galadima, SA Gumel, and Brigadier Generals EA Obona, AS Maikano, and MK Baba-Mallam.

Major General Yusuf thanked God for preserving their lives throughout their service, and expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM, for supporting the Finance Corps.

He also commended Major General TT Sidick, Chief of Accounts and Budget (Army), for ensuring the success of the event.
