Nigerian Breweries empowers 360 retailers nationwide with EDGE 2025 training, enhancing financial, operational, and customer management skills

Nigerian Breweries Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering retailers and sub-distributors nationwide through entrepreneurial capacity-building initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable business growth.

The Managing Director, Thibaut Boidin, made the announcement during the closing ceremony of the Empowerment to Drive Growth and Excellence (EDGE) 2025 programme, which began in July at Awka and covered 360 high-value outlets across 12 regions.

Boidin explained that EDGE was designed in response to insights from the company’s Voice of Customer engagements, which revealed operational and financial challenges facing retail partners.

“Through this programme, we trained over 360 customers across 12 regions, equipping them with practical skills, business tools, and free inventory apps to help reduce losses and strengthen their operations. At Nigerian Breweries Plc, we believe that when our customers grow, we grow,” he said.

The programme, facilitated by Temitope Jegede, CEO of Tom Associates, included intensive training on financial literacy, operational efficiency, customer service optimisation, staff development, and post-training consultancy support.

The sessions encouraged participants to identify gaps in their operations and apply practical solutions, including improved record-keeping and inventory management.

Participants praised EDGE for being transformative.

Awesu Ahmed noted that the programme helped him recognise long-standing operational weaknesses and implement tools to manage his business more effectively, while Juliet Nwafor highlighted the value of bookkeeping and transaction-monitoring skills for her growing retail operations.
