NIMC promotes 523 staff members in its 2025 promotion exercise, with DG Abisoye Coker-Odusote urging professionalism and zero tolerance for corruption

The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, has approved the promotion of 523 staff members as part of the commission’s 2025 promotion exercise, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The promotion exercise forms part of NIMC’s statutory performance reward system for officers who met the requirements stipulated in the Public Service Rules during the 2025 cycle.

In a statement posted on Tuesday on the commission’s official X handle by the Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, NIMC disclosed that two staff members were promoted to the Director cadre (Grade Level 17), while eight advanced to Deputy Director (GL 16).

The statement added that 35 officers were promoted to Assistant Director (GL 15), another 35 to Chief Identity Officer (GL 14), and 109 to Assistant Chief Identity Officer (GL 13).

Further promotions included 113 staff elevated to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), 82 to Senior Identity Officer (GL 10), and 130 to Identity Officer I (GL 9).

Congratulating the beneficiaries, Coker-Odusote urged the newly promoted officers to see the advancement as a call to higher responsibility and more effective service to the nation.

She reiterated the commission’s zero-tolerance policy on extortion and corruption, warning all staff to desist from any conduct capable of undermining public trust.

The NIMC boss also encouraged employees to rededicate themselves to duty in 2026, particularly towards the successful implementation and expansion of the National Identification Number (NIN) project nationwide.
