Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Whitney Nneoma Chukwu, popularly known as Nomy, was disqualified from the “Show Ya Sef” house in Lagos on Monday, September 7, 2026, after Big Brother found that the 26-year-old fashion entrepreneur had repeatedly defied his instructions and house rules.

The dramatic decision brought Nomy’s campaign for the ₦160 million Season 11 prize to an abrupt end and made her the first housemate to be removed from the competition on disciplinary grounds this season.

The immediate trigger was Nomy’s conduct while serving as the week’s designated Bench Warmer.

After finishing last in the Head of House challenge, Nomy was instructed to use a designated bench and wear a vest as part of the punishment.

Instead, she left the bench and vest behind, prompting Big Brother to confront her in front of the other housemates.

“Nomy, you are the Bench Warmer, so Big Brother is curious why you left your vest and bench behind. What is your intention?” Big Brother asked.

Nomy was given an opportunity to explain. She said she had no premeditated intention behind leaving the items and was not thinking about the decision at the time.

Big Brother, however, treated the latest incident as part of a wider pattern rather than an isolated lapse.

The disqualification followed a disciplinary history that had already placed Nomy on thin ice.

On August 9, she became the first housemate of the “Show Ya Sef” season to receive a strike after repeated instances of defying Big Brother’s instructions.

At the time, Big Brother described the sanction as her “last and final warning”, while reminding the housemates that his rules, instructions and punishments were mandatory.

Reports also indicate that Nomy had previously been cautioned over lateness, disobedience and selective participation in mandatory activities.

By the time of Nomy’s exit, the field had already been reduced through evictions and other departures.

Nomy’s removal therefore further reshapes a house that has already experienced shifting alliances, confrontations, punishments and changing power dynamics.

Nomy’s own journey had been particularly visible because of her outspoken personality and willingness to challenge instructions.

The 26-year-old fashion designer and entrepreneur from Anambra State, who was raised in Lagos, had also spoken about her ambitions for her personal brand and fashion business.

The contrast between Nomy’s confident personality and the increasingly strict disciplinary line drawn by Big Brother became one of the more striking threads of her time in the house.
