Confirming the arrests in a statement on Friday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the suspects were apprehended during intensified patrol operations and have since confessed to the crimes.
“In the course of our determined effort and intensified operations within the state, we arrested some notorious suspected vandals and burglars who specialised in breaking into houses in Dambatta, Fagge, and Tarauni Local Government Areas,” Abdullahi said.
He added that the suspects were found in possession of several stolen items, including nine mobile phones, one bicycle, three standing fans, three solar panels, a flat-screen television, two bundles of wire, two burglar-proof windows, three MP3 speakers, a small solar panel, one power bank, and three vehicle tyres.
Abdullahi noted that the operation was part of the command’s continuous effort to curb criminal activity and protect property across Kano State.
“The arrest of these suspected criminals is part of our continued effort to forestall the nefarious activities of vandals and other criminal elements in Kano State,” he said, adding that investigations have been completed and the suspects will soon be charged to court.
He reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment under the leadership of State Commandant Bala Bodinga to safeguard critical national infrastructure and ensure public safety.
Abdullahi also urged residents to support security efforts by reporting suspicious movements or criminal activities to the NSCDC and other law enforcement agencies.
