Ogun double murder sees retired broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard killed as police recover stolen Lexus RX300 and intensify hunt for perpetrators in Owode-Egba

The Ogun State Police Command has recovered a Lexus RX300 vehicle reported missing after the brutal killing of retired broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard at their residence in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of Ogun State on Sunday night, June 21, 2026.

Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni visited the crime scene on Monday, June 22, 2026, for an on-the-spot assessment of the ongoing investigation into the Ogun double murder.

Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the developments in a statement. He said the commissioner inspected the premises and received briefings from detectives handling the case.

“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” Babaseyi stated.

Preliminary investigations revealed signs of forced entry into the residence.

A resident raised the alarm over suspicious movements, prompting police to visit the scene where the security guard was found dead at his post and Kitan Oyesiku’s body was later discovered inside the apartment.

The command confirmed that the Lexus RX300 was recovered during night-time operations and has been secured as part of the investigation.

CP Ojajuni commiserated with the family of the deceased and assured residents of Ogun State that intensive efforts, with all available resources, are being deployed to track down the perpetrators.

The tragic killings have sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about safety in the Owode-Egba area. This latest incident adds to worries over violent crime in parts of Ogun State, even as security agencies work to improve response times and intelligence gathering.

The police have appealed for credible information from the public that could assist in apprehending those behind this heinous act. Residents expressed hope that the swift recovery of the vehicle signals strong progress toward justice for the victims.
