Otunba Gbenga Daniel launched a vocational training and empowerment programme, providing irrigation water pumps to women and youths in Ogun East

 

In a strategic move to boost agricultural productivity and support self-reliance, the lawmaker representing the Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has launched a vocational training and empowerment program, equipping women and youth with irrigation water pumps.

The event took place at Asoludero Hall, Sagamu, Ogun State, drawing participants from across the district.

The initiative aims to enhance sustainable farming practices by providing essential tools and training, enabling beneficiaries to cultivate crops year-round and improve their livelihoods.

Speaking at the event, the former governor of Ogun State emphasized the importance of empowering women and youth, highlighting their crucial role in driving community development and food security.

“This programme is about equipping our people with the skills and resources needed for economic independence.

“With these water pumps and the right training, they can enhance their farming output and create a better future for themselves and their families.”

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting how access to irrigation equipment will transform their agricultural efforts and increase productivity, especially during dry seasons.
