Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone by Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s government has been hailed by the Federal Government as a shining model of industrial excellence and Nigeria China partnership.

Located in Igbesa, Ogun State, the Zone initiated under Otunba Daniel’s administration is now recognised as a blueprint for national industrialisation.
During an official visit, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, Director General of the Nigeria China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), described the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone as a masterpiece of industrial success.
The Zone hosts over 173 enterprises, generating more than 10,000 direct and 25,000 indirect jobs, and producing 300 megawatts of electricity, making it one of Nigeria’s most self-sustaining industrial hubs.
Tegbe confirmed plans to replicate the Zone’s winning model across other free trade zones in Nigeria to accelerate reindustrialisation.
Dr. Hafsat Oduwole Balewa, Chairman of the Zone, credited strategic leadership for its expansion from fewer than 40 industries to today’s 173.
She stressed the importance of its global quality production and its alignment with Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda.
From infrastructure to output, the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone by Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s government remains a beacon of progress, innovation, and investment attraction.
The project was initiated, conceptualised, licensed, development and commissioned by President Goodluck Jonathan and Otunba Daniel in 2010, and it is one of the three Free Trade zones established during the tenure of Otunba Gbenga Daniel administration.
The others being The Kajola Transportation FTZ with Ifo local government and the Olokola in Ogun Waterside LG.
