Gafaru Rasaki arrested in Ogun State for exhuming human remains, found with four heads, police vow full legal action

The state police spokesperson, Babaseyi Oluseyi, said operatives of the Shagamu Police Division apprehended Rasaki on 21 January 2026 following intelligence that led to his arrest.

“Upon interrogation and thorough investigation, it was revealed that the suspect unlawfully exhumed the human remains from a cemetery. This is an act amounting to disregard for corpses and a serious violation of the law,” Oluseyi said.

The spokesperson added that the human remains had been secured and that Rasaki would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

Oluseyi reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to public safety, warning that anyone involved in the desecration of human remains would face the full weight of the law.

He noted that this was not the first incident of its kind in Ogun State.
