Gafaru Rasaki arrested in Ogun State for exhuming human remains, found with four heads, police vow full legal action
Gafaru Rasaki, a man from Sagamu, Ogun State, has been arrested for allegedly exhuming human remains from a local cemetery and found in possession of four human heads, the Ogun State Police Command confirmed on Thursday.

The state police spokesperson, Babaseyi Oluseyi, said operatives of the Shagamu Police Division apprehended Rasaki on 21 January 2026 following intelligence that led to his arrest.
“Upon interrogation and thorough investigation, it was revealed that the suspect unlawfully exhumed the human remains from a cemetery. This is an act amounting to disregard for corpses and a serious violation of the law,” Oluseyi said.
The spokesperson added that the human remains had been secured and that Rasaki would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Oluseyi reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to public safety, warning that anyone involved in the desecration of human remains would face the full weight of the law.
He noted that this was not the first incident of its kind in Ogun State.

Last month, operatives arrested three suspects in Mowe for alleged conspiracy and unlawful possession of a human skull, highlighting the ongoing vigilance of the police in curbing such criminal activities.
