In Lagos, Oba Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege visits Nigerian Army’s GOC to pay respects to the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Lagbaja.
In a solemn show of respect and unity, His Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, Ph.D., MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), the Olota of Otta, Aworiland, paid a condolence visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division of the Nigerian Army in Lagos today, 13th November 2024.
The purpose of this visit was to honour the memory of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, whose recent passing has left a significant void within Nigeria’s military community.

Oba Obalanlege was received with a warm welcome from senior military officials led by Major General F.U. Mijinwaya, the GOC of the 81 Division.
During their meeting, the Olota of Otta extended his heartfelt appreciation to Major General Mijinwaya for his unwavering dedication to enhancing security across the Division’s areas of operation.
His Majesty expressed particular gratitude for the army’s efforts in promoting peace and stability, which he acknowledged as vital to national development.

The condolence visit was deeply motivated by the sudden passing of Lt. General Lagbaja, a highly respected and disciplined leader who dedicated his life to safeguarding Nigeria.
Reflecting on Lt. General Lagbaja’s contributions, His Majesty spoke with profound sorrow, recognising him as a paragon of military professionalism whose influence strengthened the Nigerian Armed Forces.

In a gesture of solidarity, Oba Obalanlege also extended his condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Lt. General Lagbaja’s family, and the entire Nigerian Army, urging the nation to continue to uphold the values the late Chief exemplified throughout his career.
His Majesty encouraged Nigerians to honour the sacrifices made by Lt. General Lagbaja, whose passing signifies a major loss to the country’s ongoing security and stability efforts.
