The Oluwo emphasized that no sacrifice can bring peace to the town, as it is solely in the hands of God.

He also instructed his subjects to prevent any Oro festival from taking place and to report individuals pouring substances on the ground or into the river.

“Only God can make Iwo peaceful; and He is the only one that can sustain tranquility in Iwo.

“There should not be any Oro in Iwo. If any Oro comes out, it should be arrested. If anybody places a sacrifice on the ground, ask the person to eat it. We don’t want any form of sacrifice. No sacrifice can make the town peaceful.

“Only God Almighty can make the town peaceful. Everything is in God’s hands. They want to dirty the ground by pouring salt and palm oil.

“If you see anybody pouring palm oil on the ground, tell the person to immediately clean the place.

“After that, arrest him and bring such a person to me. “Anybody found at Odo Oba pouring something into the river should be arrested,” he said.

The Oluwo has previously advocated for the abandonment of deities in favor of worshiping only one God, stating that his role as a monarch is to pay homage solely to the Almighty.
