Opportunity Africa has launched a powerful Creative Council to reshape the continent’s global narrative, aligning with Agenda 2063 and advancing a unified vision of “The Africa We Want.”

The Opportunity Africa Creative Council brings together leading communications, media and marketing experts to promote a stronger, opportunity-driven image of Africa.

The initiative, unveiled in Addis Ababa, is designed as a pan-African platform to amplify stories, institutions and individuals already transforming perceptions about the continent.

Backed by key partners including Africa No Filter and the African Union, the council aims to position Africa’s narrative as a strategic asset in a rapidly shifting global landscape.

Officials said the move reflects a growing recognition that perception plays a decisive role in attracting investment, influence and global attention.

Communications Officer for Agenda 2063 at the African Union, Faith Adhiambo, described the council as a timely collaboration to strengthen Africa’s voice and align messaging with continental priorities.

Faith Adhiambo said the initiative would enhance how the African Union communicates its development agenda and encourage broader stakeholder participation.

Executive Director of Africa No Filter, Moky Makura, noted that the council represents an unprecedented level of collaboration across Africa’s storytelling ecosystem.

Moky Makura added that the platform would help build the narrative infrastructure needed to reposition Africa globally.

Founder of AT3 Resources, Tosin Adefeko, said the council aims to shift global perception from deficit to potential by highlighting Africa’s innovation and opportunity.

The council includes influential figures from organisations such as Brand South Africa, IC Publications, TRACE and X3M Ideas.

Industry leaders including Adebola Williams and Trevor Ncube are also part of the council, bringing cross-sector expertise to guide its creative direction.

The Opportunity Africa Creative Council is expected to drive a more cohesive and confident narrative about Africa, positioning the continent as a hub of innovation, progress and cultural influence.
