Otunba Femi Davies bereaved as mother passes peacefully

Otunba Femi Davies has lost his mother, who passed peacefully on July 4, 2025. The media icon is receiving tributes from across Nigeria

Renowned Nigerian media entrepreneur and publisher of Metronews NG, Otunba Femi Davies, has been bereaved following the passing of his beloved mother.

She died peacefully in the early hours of Friday, 4 July 2025, surrounded by close family members. She was over 80 years of age.

Otunba Femi Davies, who is widely respected for his contributions to journalism and public discourse in Nigeria, has begun receiving messages of condolence from across the media, business, and political communities.

He confirmed the passing to Freelanews correspondent as funeral arrangements are being finalised.

“She lived a full and impactful life,” he said. “We are grateful for the legacy she leaves behind.”

Although visibly affected by the loss, Otunba Femi Davies has expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of love and support.

Friends, colleagues, and admirers have described his late mother as a woman of warmth, quiet strength, and deep faith.
