Four police officers have been dismissed from service over their alleged involvement in the killing of seven traders at Owode-Onirin, authorities confirmed on Thursday.

The dismissal was announced by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh at the Ikeja Police Officers’ Mess, who stated that the officers, brought from Nasarawa State by the principal suspect identified as Ariori, were implicated in the unlawful killings.

The Owode-Onirin incident occurred in August 2025 during a clash between land grabbers and traders.

CP Jimoh assured the public that investigations are ongoing, with ballistic and autopsy reports guiding prosecution.

“This matter has not been swept under the carpet. All suspects will be prosecuted, and the courts remain open to hear every case,” he said, emphasising the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining law and order.

The Commissioner noted that 98 percent of the investigation is complete and urged residents and traders to remain vigilant while assuring them of continued protection and justice.
