Woman accuses Pastor Jerry Eze of sexual exploitation after seeking spiritual help

A woman claims the NSPPD founder exploited her after she sought spiritual help, alleging a traumatic relationship and serious medical consequences

Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International and convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), is facing a fresh exploitation allegation after a woman claimed that she was sexually exploited after seeking spiritual help for an alleged pornography addiction.

The woman, whose identity has not been independently verified, made the allegation in a widely circulated account that has triggered discussion in Nigeria, with social media users debating the claims and calling for greater scrutiny of relationships between vulnerable people seeking spiritual guidance and religious leaders.

According to the woman’s account, she approached Pastor Eze for help with what she described as a pornography addiction.

She alleged that the relationship that followed became sexual and resulted in seven abortions, severe health complications and, ultimately, the removal of her womb.

The claims have not been independently substantiated, and there is no verified medical documentation or court record publicly available to establish the allegations at the time of publication.

There was also no immediate public response from Pastor Eze or representatives of Streams of Joy International addressing the specific claims. The absence of a response does not establish the allegations as true or false.

The controversy has nevertheless placed renewed attention on the power dynamics that can arise when individuals experiencing personal, emotional or spiritual difficulties seek help from influential religious figures.

Pastor Eze is one of Nigeria’s most prominent contemporary Pentecostal preachers.

His NSPPD platform has developed a substantial international following through daily online prayer broadcasts built around the message, “What God cannot do does not exist.”

The preacher has also faced public scrutiny over other matters in recent years.

In April 2026, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman Ola Olukoyede said the agency had investigated Eze for six months over alleged money laundering concerns before concluding that investigators found no evidence of wrongdoing.

That earlier investigation was unrelated to the latest sexual exploitation allegation, which remains unverified.

The latest claims have attracted attention partly because they involve allegations of a deeply personal nature and serious alleged medical consequences.

If substantiated, the claims would raise significant questions about consent, pastoral responsibility and the ethical boundaries governing relationships between religious leaders and people who approach them while experiencing vulnerability.

For now, the allegations remain claims made by one woman and should be treated with caution until independently verified evidence or a formal response emerges.

The controversy also highlights a broader conversation about accountability within religious institutions and the need for people seeking spiritual support to have access to safe, transparent and appropriate channels of care.

As the allegations continue to circulate online, any assessment of the claims will ultimately depend on credible evidence, the woman’s account being independently examined and any response provided by Pastor Eze or his representatives.
