Pete Edochie death rumours have been denied by Afrolens Media, confirming the veteran Nollywood actor is alive and in good health

Afrolens Media, the communications team representing veteran Nollywood actor Chief Pete Edochie, on Wednesday firmly denied circulating reports of his death, describing the claims as “false, malicious, and deeply irresponsible”.

In a statement released to the public, Afrolens Media confirmed that Chief Pete Edochie, 78, is alive, in good health and continuing with his daily activities.

The management team expressed concern over the rapid spread of the Pete Edochie death rumours, noting that the reports had caused unnecessary panic and emotional distress for the actor, his family, colleagues and fans, as well as members of the wider Nigerian entertainment industry.

Afrolens Media cautioned bloggers, content creators and media organisations against publishing unverified information, particularly on sensitive matters relating to an individual’s health or life status.

The statement warned that legal action could be considered should the dissemination of false information persist.

“To avoid further misinformation, we urge the public to rely solely on Chief Pete Edochie’s official Instagram account, @peteedochie, as the only credible source of information,” the statement read.

Afrolens Media concluded with a call for professionalism and integrity in reporting, emphasising that “humanity is the essence of life”.
